Since June 1, there have been 15 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Franklin County and two additional deaths. A 94-year-old woman from Union died June 2 and a 71-year-old man from Luebbering succumbed June 8.
Last Thursday, five cases were reported in connection with Sunset Health in Union. Of those, three are residents and two are employees.
For the first time since reporting has begun, Franklin County now has more cases of COVID-19 in the county at large (10) than it does confined to residents of skilled nursing facilities (8).
Five people recovered from the virus so far in June bringing the total number of recoveries to 118.
There have been a total of 156 cases of COVID-19 in Franklin County with a death toll of 18. Across the state, there have been 1,586 new cases reported in June with 65 deaths.
