Delores Virginia Langenberg, 80, Owensville, passed away Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021, at Oak Pointe of Rolla.

She was born May 28, 1941, to Roy and Ella (Picker) Chapman, in St. Louis.

She was first married to Paul Spurgeon Sept. 7, 1963, at Leduc Methodist Church, then to Calvin Langenberg Jan. 10, 2004, at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Cuba.

Delores enjoyed shopping, sight seeing, photography, sewing, quilting, traveling and mostly spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by parents Roy and Ella; husband Paul Spurgeon; two sons William “Billy” and Steven Spurgeon.

She is survived by husband Calvin of the home; daughters Sheryl and husband Chris Mertz of Bland and Sandy and husband Scott Mitchell of Cuba; daughters-in-law Tina Spurgeon of Owensville and Lydia Gore of Rosebud; stepson Craig and wife Jane Langenberg of Brooksville, Fla.; brother Robert and wife Linda Chapman of Bland; sister Joyce and husband Roger Biles of Owensville; grandchildren Nicholas and wife Shelby Mertz, Nathan and wife April Mertz, Jacob and wife Chantel Spurgeon, Samantha and husband Robert Ridley, Mercedes and husband Mitchell Barton, Shayla and husband Evin Farris, Danton Creek, William Spurgeon, Austin Spurgeon and Katie Creek; step-grandchildren, Brett and Tyler Langenberg; and great-grandchildren Kate and Maggie Mertz, Karter Farris and expecting a fourth.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 7, at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home with Pastor Tommy Miller officiating. Burial was in Licklider Cemetery, Cuba.
