Denny H. Siedner, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, passed away Monday, Oct. 9, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 1, 1941, in Berlin, Germany.

He was united in marriage to Rosemary Scholten, May 1, 1965, at Immaculate Conception Church In Owensville.

Denny’s life was full of difficult and dark moments. As a Holocaust survivor and Vietnam Veteran, he often encountered the dark side of humanity. But his heart was full of love and light, and he shared it with everyone he knew. He adored his beloved wife Rosemary of 58 years, and his children David and Dana. He was the proud Papa of eight incredible grandchildren and a favorite uncle to many. He loved collecting, whether it was coins, stamps, comics, or anything Star Wars and was always watching old Westerns on TV. He was always willing and able to help whoever was in need, and expected nothing in return. He told his children everyday, “Family is all that matters. We take care of each other… always.”

Denny was the beloved husband of Rosemary; loving father of David (Debbie) Siedner and Dana (Joseph Stout) Siedner-Stout; devoted grandfather of Darian (Hayden) Fox, Tyler Siedner, Caitlyn Siedner, Anthony Siedner, Timothy Stout, Rose Stout, John (Anna) Stout, and Liliana Stout; dear brother of Ursula (the late Helmut) Pless and the late Henry (Cila) Siedner; dear brother-in-law Joseph (Mary) Scholten, Virginia (Calvin) LaBoube, Vernon (the late Valoise) Scholten, the late Richard Scholten and the late Robert (Virgie) Scholten; dear uncle, great-uncle, and a friend to many in his lifetime.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday, Oct. 14, at Immaculate Conception Church in Owensville. A Rite of Committal followed at Immaculate Conception Cemetery where military honors were bestowed.
