Dixon man being held following a high-speed pursuit

DIXON  — Kenneth D. Frazee, 45, of Dixon, is being held on a no-bond warrant, and Sheriff Mike Bonham has applied for several charges following last Wednesday’s high-speed pursuit that began in Freeburg and ended in Dixon.

At about 4 p.m., the sheriff’s office attempted to stop Frazee after he purportedly violated a stop sign. Instead, Frazee, driving a 2011 Kawasaki, fled southbound on Hwy. 63 at high speeds, initiating a pursuit. He continued south for approximately 15 miles, violating several traffic laws before turning west onto Hwy. 28. Frazee continued to flee at speeds of over 75 MPH and entered Dixon, heading west on Hwy. 133.

Osage County deputies were assisted in the pursuit by the Dixon Police Department and the Maries County Sheriff’s Office.

As Frazee made his way through Crocker, he doubled back toward Dixon on Hwy. 133. He attempted to turn onto Crescent Road, then laid down his motorcycle and tried to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended.

Frazee was taken into custody by the Osage County Sheriff’s Office and was booked on stop sign violation, speeding, reckless driving, delivery of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, and no vehicle registration. He was taken to Osage County and jailed pending a bond from the court. According to Sheriff Bonham, Frazee admitted to possession of methamphetamine, and that is why he ran.

“We wish would thank the Maries County Sheriff’s Office and Dixon Police Department for their assistance,” said Bonham.

The sheriff has requested charges for resisting arrest, trafficking drugs in the first degree, failure to signal, operating a motorcycle when driver’s license not validated, failure to register a motor vehicle, and failure to provide proof of insurance.
