Dutchgirls fall to Sullivan, North County

End the Four Rivers Conference (FRC) portion of their season last Tuesday night on the wrong end of a 48-34 final score last Tuesday night at Sullivan, Matt Kramme’s Owensville Dutchgirl basketball team looked to cap their regular season last Thursday night with a victory over North County’s Lady Raiders on senior night at Owensville High School (OHS).

Lone OHS senior Dutchgirl basketball player Cylee Reed was recognized between the junior varsity and varsity games.

Leading 10-9 after one quarter, Owensville trailed 25-22 at halftime behind seven first-half points from Lainey Moss.

Unable to overcome an 11-2 third-quarter run by North County, Kramme’s Dutchgirls ended their regular season with a 47-31 loss.

In addition to Moss’ seven first-half points, Cameron Ryerson also finished with seven points netting six of them in the first half.

Reed followed in the scoring column with six points on a pair of made 3-pointers.

Abbey Quilacio added five points while Piper Koelling chipped in four markers.

Ryan Miller rounded out the Dutchgirl scoring with one point on a fourth-quarter free throw.

Owensville also fell 20-13 in the JV game.

Dutchgirls at Sullivan

Falling on the road at Union three nights earlier, Kramme’s Dutchgirls looked to end the FRC portion of their season last Tuesday night on the road on a winning note against Sullivan’s Lady Eagles.

Within striking distance trailing 11-9 after one quarter, Owensville was edged 12-7 in the second quarter but went into halftime still within single digits of the host Lady Eagles trailing 23-16 behind five first-half points from Quilacio.

Unable to overcome a five-point third quarter, Kramme’s Dutchgirls ended up on the wrong end of a 48-34 final score at Sullivan.

Ryerson led the Dutchgirls scoring seven of her team-high 11 points in the second half.

Moss and Quilacio each added six points apiece followed closely with five points from Cambell Schulte.

Shae Abernathy and Koelling threw in two points while Reed hit a fourth-quarter free throw for one point rounding out the Owensville scoring at Sullivan.
