Competing against a field schools largely bigger than them, Matt Candrl’s Owensville High School Dutchmen and Dutchgirls came out in the top half of the team standings during last Wednesday’s Russell C. Nix Relays at Washington High School.
Owensville’s Dutchmen placed fourth with 73.89 points while the Dutchgirls were fifth with 65.92 points.
Pacing their way to victory in the boys 4x1600-meter relay for Owensville in a time of 19:38.60 was the team of Zach Holtmeyer, Drake Dietrich, Grayson Lairmore and Dylan Dietrich.
Also winning the 1600m Sprint Medley Relay was the Dutchmen foursome of Drake Dietrich, Connor Wellman, Mason McDaniel and Holtmeyer in a time of 3:50.67.
Ricardo Marquez (2nd, 3.95m), Logan Valley (3rd, 3.65m) and Coleton Connor (8th, 3.35m) placed in the top eight of the boys pole vault for Owensville.
Taking fourth in the boys 4x800m relay for the Dutchmen in a time of 9:17.02 was the team of Steven Buddemeyer, Cristopher Reyes, Dylan Dietrich and Lairmore.
Placing fifth in the boys 4x400m relay was the Dutchmen squad of Charlie Katsov, Steven Buddemeyer, Holtmeyer and McDaniel in a time of 3:42.16.
Hurdling their way to third place in the 4x110m Shuttle Hurdles Relay was the Dutchmen foursome of Christopher Kroon, Evan Boyer, Daimeyn Rogers and Katsov in a time of 1:16.75.
Sprinting to a seventh-place time of 45.69 in the boys 4x100m relay for Owensville was the team of Liam Rasmussen, Wellman, McDaniel and Katsov.
Rumbling down the track in the boys throwers 4x100m relay was the Dutchmen team of Wyatt Bone, Andrew Budnik, Ryder Wehmeyer and Kien Bayless in a third-place time of 49.76.
Posting an eighth-place time of 1:34.76 in the boys 4x200m relay for OHS was the team of Valley, Katsov, Wellman and McDaniel.
Distance Medley Relay team members Evan Reed, Ty Price, Steven Buddemeyer and Reyes placed sixth for the Dutchmen in a time of 12:23.07.
Budnik (6th, 12.99m), Cullen Green (21st, 10.61m) and Bone (22nd, 10.18m) threw the shot put for the Dutchmen at Washington.
Also throwing the discus for OHS at Washington were Budnik (3rd, 40.39m), Zayden Garver (18th, 30.06m) and Ryder Wehmeyer (21st, 28.32m).
Bone (6th, 40.61m), Garver (9th, 38.72m) and Tyler Menz (13th, 37.41m) threw the javelin for Candrl’s Dutchmen.
Perkins (11th, 1.60m), Connor (15th, 1.60m) and Kylen Menz (15th, 1.60m) sailed over the bar for OHS in the boys high jump.
Marquez (11th, 5.79m), Bentley Luecke (17th, 5.53m) and Gianluca Brucculeri (26th, 5.08m) leaped for Owensville in the boys long jump.
Bo Buddemeyer (16th, 10.99m), Valley (22nd, 10.70m) and Kylen Menz (24th, 10.49m) made marks in the boys triple jump for Owensville.
Sprinting to a third-place time of 52.00 in the girls 4x100m relay for Owensville was the foursome of Violet Lavalle, Brianna Bodine, Emma-Lee Wehmeyer and Ariana Katsov.
Taking sixth in the girls 4x200m relay was the Owensville foursome of Jordan Duncan, Bodine, Lavalle and Katsov.
Ending the meet with a seventh-place time of 4:42.09 in the girls 4x400m relay was the Dutchgirl team of Abbey Quilacio, Ella Davidson, Lilly Sample and Duncan.
Earning a team point in the girls 4x800m relay was the Dutchgirl squad of Hannah Gehlert, Leola Hamann, Morgen Schmidt and Davidson with an eighth-place time of 12:26.15.
Running the girls 4x1600m relay in a sixth-place time of 27:10.34 for OHS was the team of Meredith Reed, Gehlert, Davidson and Schmidt.
Posting an eighth-place time of 2:06.77 in the girls 800m sprint medley relay was the Dutchgirl team of Leah Hays, Sample, Quilacio and Duncan.
Taking seventh during the 1600m sprint medley relay in a time of 5:16.71 was the Dutchgirl squad of Halle Engelbrecht, Quilacio, Duncan and Hayes.
Hurdling to a third-place time of 1:16.07 in the 4x100m Shuttle Hurdle girls relay was the Owensville team of Wehmeyer, Engelbrecht, Hays and Lavalle.
Rylee Dare (5th, 8.62m), Lexis Manning (13th, 7.99m) and Gracelyn Raymond (19th, 6.82m) threw the shot put for OHS’ Dutchgirls at Washington.
Dare (4th, 29.01m), Manning (10th, 25.90m) and Delyla Crowe (27th, 16.47m) tossed the discus for Owensville.
Throwing the javelin at Washington for the Dutchgirls were Dare (9th, 26.43m), Sample (14th, 22.10m) and Kinley Troncin (24th, 18.46m).
Engelbrecht (3rd, 1.45m), Sample (6th, 1.40m) and Baylee Sieckmann (12th, 1.30m), sailed over the bar for Owensville in the girls high jump.
Lavalle (4th, 2.60m), Quilacio (4th, 2.60m) and Arianna Baguio (6th, 2.45m) placed within the top six of the girls pole vault at Washington for Owensville.
Katsov (5th, 4.67m), Wehmeyer (6th, 4.64m), and Bodine (4.08m) leapt in the girls long jump while Wehmeyer (1st, 10.12m), Engelbrecht (11th, 8.68m) and Sieckmann (20th, 7.35m) competed in the girls triple jump for Owensville.
Seeing their meet at New Haven from Monday canceled due to forecasted severe weather, Candrl’s Dutchmen and Dutchgirls will return to action this Friday in the annual Four Rivers Conference (FRC) track meet at New Haven High School.
