Looking to close his Hermann High School (HHS) golf career on a positive note, Bearcat senior golfer EJ Lindahl is well on his way to doing that with two recent tournament wins at Union and St. James.

Ending the month of March in the Union Tournament at Birch Creek Golf Course back on Monday, March 30, Lindahl fired an 18-hole round of 79 to win the tournament by four strokes of Sullivan’s Carson Dudley who fired a second-place round of 83 over 18 holes.

Also playing in Union for HHS were Nathan Menke (113), Maggie Causey (122), Brylee Moore (143) and Josie Neill (144).

Four Rivers Conference (FRC) dual action awaited the Bearcats back on Thursday, April 9 at Owensville Golf Course (OGC) against the host Dutchmen.

Playing nine holes, Hermann fell to Owensville in team scoring 174 to 197.

Lindahl was the meet medalist shooting a one-over par 33 over nine holes.

Following Lindahl for Hermann were Causey (50), Menke (52), Lilly Vogelsang (62) and Moore (62).

Scores for Owensville included Koen Brooks (40, Keigan Glaser (43), Jack Tesson (44), Grant Huebler (47) and Brenner Thompson (49).

Last Wednesday in the St. James Tiger Classic, 20 holes were needed to decide a winner instead of the regulation 18 holes.

Lindahl and Dudley both fired 18-hole rounds of 77 at St. James Golf Club warranting a sudden-death playoff to decide the tournament winner.

Recording a birdie on the second playoff hole, Lindahl won the tournament after Dudley posted a par.

HHS golfers following Lindahl at St. James included Menke (116), Moore (137), Vogelsang (138) and Neill (140).

Facing Pacific in a FRC dual Monday night on the road, Hermann will return to action tomorrow (Thursday) at Loutre Shore Golf Course hosting Sullivan and St. Clair in a FRC tri-meet before competing in the Sullivan Invitational throughout the day Friday at Sullivan Golf Course.
