Elda Ora Thomeczek, 81, Gerald, passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Washington.
She was born Jan. 7, 1939, to Daniel and Florence (Rice) Shepherd, in Strain.
She was united in marriage to Joseph Thomeczek, Sept. 12, 1992, in Rosebud.
Elda was a member of St. Paul’’s United Church of Christ in Gerald. She enjoyed embroidery, gardening in her flower garden and feeding and watching the backyard birds.
She was preceded in death by parents, Daniel and Florence; grandson, Erik Joers; granddaughter, Melinda Sappington; brothers, George and Elmer Shepherd; brother-in-law, Forest Binkholder; and sister-in-law, Berniece Shepherd.
She is survived by husband, Joseph, of the home; sons, Doug Brauks of Gerald, Joe Thomeczek of Leaseburg and David Thomeczek and wife Julie of St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands; daughters, Patricia Joers and husband Larry and Pam Hollandsworth and husband Rick, all of Gerald, and Lynn Williams and husband Mark of Bethalto, Ill.; sister, Mary Ann Binkholder of Gerald; grandchildren, Ethan (Shyanne), Missa (special friend Shannon), Josh, Jason (Jenny), Justin (Brittani), Ryan (Laurie), Adam, Tim, Sarah, Alex, Angela, Amber and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 6, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Gerald with Rev. Glenn Hollander officiating. Burial was in Schmidt Cemetery in Strain.
