Elizabeth Amelia Diekmann, 90, Owensville, passed away Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at Frene Valley Stonebridge in Owensville.
She was born Aug. 16, 1930, to James Albert and Iva (Brown) Brown, in Eureka.
She was united in marriage to Harold Diekmann, Aug. 14, 1949, in Allenton.
Elizabeth was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Charlotte. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, gardening, planting flowers and spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by parents, James and Iva; husband, Harold Diekmann in 1996; son-in-law, Gary Howell; great-grandchildren, Mary Gearin and Scotty Neaveill; brothers, Ivan and Jimmy Brown; and brothers-in-law, Norman Falls, Danny Walker, Harvey Hamric and Charlie Butler.
She is survived by sons, Harold Diekmann Jr. and wife Barbara of Pacific, James Diekmann and fiancé Debbie of Berger and Daniel Diekmann and wife Mona of Gerald; daughters, Carole Howell of Union, Sandy Diekmann of Pacific and Suzy Diekmann of Gerald; brothers, Bud Brown of St. Clair, Gene Brown and wife Peggie of Pacific, Tommy Brown and wife Sheryl of Villa Ridge, Ronnie Brown and wife Kim of Rosebud and Ricky Brown and wife Debby of Republic: sisters, Roberta Falls of Eureka, Jackie Walker of Springfield, Iva Hamric of Ward, Ark., and Connie Butler of Washington; sister-in-law, Sandie Brown of St. Clair; and 18 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be (today) Wednesday, Jan. 6, at 10:30 a.m., at the Gottenstroeter Chapel in Owensville with Rev. Paul Landgraf officiating. Burial will be at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Charlotte. Please observe COVID restrictions. The family requests masks are mandatory. The break room will be closed. Memorial contributions suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.
