Fern Etna Kramme, 100, Owensville Route, passed away Monday, Sept. 13, 2021, at her daughter’s home in Cuba.
She was born Feb. 1, 1921, to Lewis Sr. and Ruth (Simpson) Rutz in Oak Hill.
She was united in marriage to Earl Charles Kramme Oct. 2, 1943, at Crawford County Courthouse.
Fern was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Bem where she belonged to the quilters, had been active as a Sunday School teacher at St. Peters in Owensville, Pairs and Spares, WPFA, CROP and Oak Hill Extension Club.
She was preceded in death by parents Lewis and Ruth; husband Earl; brothers Daless Rutz, Lewis Rutz Jr. and Armin Rutz; sister Okel Tayloe; brothers-in-law Jimmy Tayloe, Lowery Crook, Calvin Kramme, Milford Kramme, Melford Ritterbusch and Louis Brandenburger; and sisters-in-law Welma Rutz, Beulah Rutz, Elaine Rutz, Esther Brandenburger, Elma Ritterbusch, Laverna Kramme and Louise Kramme.
She is survived by children Faye Howard and husband Willis of Cuba, Phyllis Gross and husband Charles of Owensville, Neil Kramme and wife Marilyn of Owensville and “Mom” to Seeley Usaha of Thailand; brother Warren Rutz; sister-in-law Mabel Crook; grandchildren Paula Shockley and husband Doug, Leann Smith and husband Jim, Jodi Layman and husband Darin, Jason Gross and wife Janice, Jerod Gross and wife Jennifer, Rebecca Lamb and husband Luke, Travis Kramme, Tyler Kramme and wife Cheri and Tanner Kramme and wife Rachel; and 25 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 18 at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Bem with Pastor Jeff Remelius officiating. Burial was in church cemetery.
Memorials requested for Oak Hill Cemetery or family’s choice.
