Five Hermann teams in the Washington Youth Sports Association (WYSA) found this out after being eliminated by the eventual tournament champions in their respective season-ending tournaments.
In the Bantam 1 Division, STL Flatworks fell 18-3 in the quarterfinals to Midwest Veterinarian Services (MVS).
MVS went on to post a 12-8 victory in the tournament championship game last Tuesday night in Washington at the Lakeview Complex.
Bantam 2 Division Tournament action featuring a Hermann team sponsored by Shelter Insurance agent John Brenner saw their season end at the hands of the Bank of Washington squad who went on to upset top-seed Blumenhoff Winery in the tournament title game last Monday night by a final score of 5-4.
Chic Division tournament action saw Purdy’s Stony Hill Hall fall 6-5 last Tuesday in quarterfinal action at Marthasville against Rothschild Restaurant out of Washington who advanced to Sunday’s tournament championship game against Frick’s.
That score was unknown at press time.
Debutante Division tournament action had Precision Taping and Paint fall 14-0 in the semifinals last Monday at Dutzow Community Park against Ernesto’s in the semifinals.
They went on to capture the tournament championship last Tuesday with an 11-0 shutout of Bade’s Farm.
During their run to a tournament title, Ernesto’s outscored their opponents 48-5.
In the Midget Division Tournament, two Hermann teams sponsored by Haeffner Wealth Advisors (HWA) and DR Concrete both saw their seasons end to the teams that reached the tournament title game last Tuesday night.
HWA fell to VP One 9-3 in the semifinals before seeing VP One knock off the Marthasville American Legion squad 8-3 in the tournament championship game played last Tuesday on Lakeview Field 2 in Washington.
DR Concrete had their season ended in the tournament semifinals by the Marthasville American Legion team 5-4 last Monday night.
Hermann Veterinary Clinic started their Petite 1 Division Tournament against Guffey’s Pizza falling 20-0 before seeing Guffey’s run their way to a tournament title following a 13-9 victory over top-seed Citizen’s Bank last Tuesday.
Guffey’s outscored their opponents over four tournaments games 64-9 with three shutouts in their first three tournament contests.
Harvey’s Body Shop out of Hermann in the Petite 2 Division Tournament saw their season end with an 8-0 loss to Home Oil Auto Repair out of New Haven Thursday night.
Home Oil Auto Repair then had their season end in the tournament semifinals after a 2-0 loss to NAPA Friday night.
