Forrest Walter Danz, 88, of Rosebud, passed away Sunday, Sept. 10, 2023, at his residence.

He was born June 22, 1935, to William Henry and Dorothy (Walters) Danz in Gerald.

He was united in marriage to Joyce Aliene Binkholder, Oct. 3, 1959, at the First Baptist Church in Owensville.

Forrest had worked for G.H. Garver Construction many years. In 1963-64 he worked construction on the St. Louis Arch. He had also helped test drill on Interstate 270. In 1986, he and son, Kenny started Danz Construction and built many structures over the years. He retired from Danz Construction in 1997 to enjoy his love of farming, cows, gardening, children and grandchildren together with his wife, Joyce. His many hobbies were fishing, hunting, dancing, playing cards and the marble game of Aggravation.

He was preceded in death by parents, William and Dorothy; wife, Joyce; grandson, Ryan Wester; brother, William Danz; sisters, Virginia Sommers and Marie Berry; and brothers-in-law, Buddy Meyer, Jack Berry and Skiets Sommers.

He is survived by children, Pam Wester and husband Jamie of Fordland, Sandra Breitenbach and husband Jerry of Union and Kenny Danz and wife April of Rosebud; sister, Normalee Meyer of New Haven; sister-in-law, Lillian Danz of Krakow; grandchildren, Reese Wester, Ross Wester, Kristin Brown and husband Matt, Kendra Lonon, Trevor Breitenbach and wife Kaitlyn, Jacob Danz and wife Lindsey and Kayla Lindeman and husband Devin; and great-grandchildren, Payton Brown, Karmen Brown, Eleanor Brietenbach, Waylon Danz, Kade Danz, Lucy “Bow” Lindeman and Scout Lindeman.

Visitation will be held Wednesday (today), Sept. 13, from 4–8 p.m. at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 14, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Kevin Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Red Oak Cemetery near Rosebud.

Memorials requested to Red Oak Methodist Cemetery Association.
