March is Youth Art Month. A special exhibit featuring works submitted by students in kindergarten through high school will be on display in the third-floor capitol rotunda now through March 16. Four Gerald Elementary School students were chosen to have their work exhibited. Rylan Price, Jillian Pauk, Madison Fitzgerald and Arianna Trentmann (from left) will travel to the capitol March 16 to attend an awards ceremony. The event is run by volunteers each year to celebrate National Youth Art Month. The event “encourages support for quality school art programs and learning through visual art education,” according to their website. GES art teacher Jessie Bayless will also attend the awards ceremony.
