Gasconade County Health Department announces second positive COVID-19 case

The Gasconade County Health Department has received notification of their second positive case of COVID-19 in Gasconade County. The patient’s identity will remain confidential and the health department will not be releasing any personal information.

The health department is working with the individual to insure they are following the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (MO DHSS) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines regarding isolation.

The health department is working with MO DHSS to conduct an investigation in an effort to identify any individuals that may have come in close contact with the positive individual to monitor them for symptoms and assist in the containment of the virus.

It is important that every member of the community continues to follow the CDC basic hygiene preventative measures. These measures include avoiding contact with people who are sick covering coughs and sneezes, proper handwashing, sanitizing frequently used surfaces and staying home when sick.

The Gasconade County Health Department has taken and will continue to take the necessary precautions to keep the community safe and will continue to diligently monitor the COVID-19 situation as it evolves by following the CDC guidelines to protect public health and limit the spread of the virus.

The health department is encouraging anyone who suspects they have COVID-19 or has been in contact with someone with a confirmed case of COVID-19 calls their healthcare provider before seeking care unless it is a life-threatening emergency.
