Gerald Fire District recommends no fireworks

Posted

The Gerald-Rosebud Fire Protection District, due to the drought and ongoing dry weather conditions, asks residents to carefully consider the following announcement regarding fireworks.

It is HIGHLY recommended that you:

AVOID igniting fireworks until further notice. Our area has received unusually low rainfall this season. Those igniting fireworks should know they can be held liable for any damage or fires or burns that may start as a result of igniting fireworks.

Soak any used fireworks in a bucket of water for 3 hours before throwing in trash.

The fire danger index is VERY HIGH. Under these conditions, fires start easily from all causes and spread rapidly.

Avoid igniting fireworks. Thank you for your consideration. Any questions can be directed to the district via Facebook messenger, or by calling their Station 2 directly at 573-764-2410.
