The Gerald-Rosebud Fire Protection District (GRFPD)held its annual awards dinner for department members Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Gerald Lions Hall.
The hall was filled with not just current firefighters, but also retired members, former chiefs, and guests.
After the meal was served, the following awards were handed out:
Officer of the Year - Jack Clark
Firefighter of the Year - Rudy Via
Fireball of the Year - James Bruckerhoff
Top responders - Rudy Via, Jack Clark and Kenny Aldridge
Junior Firefighter of the Year - Trevor Griffith
Junior Top Responder - Hunter Gibson
In addition to the standard awards, special recognition was given to individuals who resuscitated a cardiac arrest victim here in town. Anthony Milanowski, Interim Chief with the Gerald Area Ambulance District (GAAD)and also a senior firefighter, made the presentation. The life-saving awards went to Officer James Birmingham of the Gerald Police Department, Kevin Carmen and Hunter Ellermann of the GAAD, and Sean Maune, Steven Benton, Zac Wolfe, Hayden Schoenfeld, Morgan Schoenfeld, Jack Clark and James Bruckerhoff with the GRFPD. Jessica Boone a dispatcher for Franklin County also earned the award, but was not present to accept.
