Harvey Oscar Cramer, 89, of Hermann, passed away Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023, at StoneBridge Hermann.

Harvey was born Dec. 24, 1933, to William and Clara (Apel) Cramer in Morrison.

Harvey was united in marriage to Ruth Schuetz, Oct. 11, 1952, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Hermann. They were married for 50 years, until Ruth passed away on Feb. 11, 2003. Harvey married again to Dolores Spaunhorst, Jan. 7, 2006, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Clover Bottom. Dolores preceded him in death on April 23, 2022.

Harvey was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann, where he served on the adult fellowship, three terms on the church council and other church committees. He was also a member of the Hermann Jaycees, the Rhineland Wurstjaegers, and the Hermann City Council.

He was the owner and operator of Harvey’s Body Shop in Hermann for many years, until his retirement. His son Merlin then took over the business, which is now owned by his grandson, Tim Cramer.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Clara; first wife, Ruth Cramer; second wife, Dolores Cramer; son, Ricky Cramer; great-grandson, Daniel Duncan; step-daughter, Susan Spaunhorst; and seven brothers and five sisters.

Harvey is survived by son, Merlin Cramer and wife JoAnn of Hermann; daughter, Diana Cramer of Hermann; step-daughters, Barbara Feldmann Debbie Sullentrup and husband Tom, Brenda Jasper and husband Jim,  and Vicky Logan and husband Kevin all of Washington; step-son, Michael Spaunhorst and wife Joleen of Washington; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, 15 step-grandchildren and 21 step-great-grandchildren; and five foster children.

Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 30, at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann, with Rev. Andy Wilson officiating. Burial was at Oak Haven Memorial Gardens, Hermann. Memorials may be given to St. Paul United Church of Christ.
