Harvey Allen Hennington, 66, Bland, passed away Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021, at Phelps Health Regional Medical Center in Rolla.

He was born March 21, 1955, to Harrell and Clara (Hrdlicka) Hennington in Burbank, Calif.

He was united in marriage to Dawn Kozloski July 19, 1976, in Ottawa, Ill.

Harvey joined the U.S. Army in 1976 where he spent the final 20 years as Chaplain. He received a Master’s of Theology at A.G.T.S. in Springfield, and a Master’s in Family Counseling at Columbus State University. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, spending time outdoors on his tractor and just enjoying retirement. He was a member of VFW Post 6133.

He was preceded in death by parents Harrell and Clara.

He is survived by wife Dawn of the home; sons Harvey A. II and wife Michele Hennington of Arnold and Thomas and wife Machaelie Hennington of Cedar City, Utah; brothers, Harrell and wife Gabriella of Spokane, Wash. and Frank of Sacramento, Calif; sister, Meg Miranda of San Jose, Calif; and grandchildren, Alivia and Mason Hennington.

Visitation is today, Wednesday, Aug. 25 from 9-11 a.m. at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home Chapel, Owensville, with funeral services following at 11a.m. with Rev. Van Lahmeyer officiating. Burial will be in Countryside Memorial Gardens.

Masks will be mandatory for visitation and funeral.
