To the Editor:
When Senator Addison Mitchell McConnell pushes a federal hemp ban, Missouri Republican lawmakers Senator David Gregory and Representative Dave Hinman advance the same language at the state level, and Democratic officials like St. Louis County Councilwoman Lisa Clancy and Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas repeat it locally, the claim that this is about safety collapses, this is not ideology, it is a script.
I am tired. Tired of having to fight just to do what others are allowed to do without thinking. Tired of standing on the side of what is right and still losing, not because we failed, but because illegal industries are protected by corrupt politicians.
As a veteran, people ask if I would do it again. The honest answer is…not anymore. The story we are sold about service and sacrifice is empty when the same politicians who praise it turn around and undermine it. Too many of them do not understand the cost, and the few who do often get absorbed into the system.
Here is how it actually works. A politician looks you in the eye, promises help, and asks for your support. You give it in good faith.
Then they walk away and do nothing. Not because they cannot act, but because they never intended to.
When rules apply only downward and corruption wraps itself in patriotism, real Americans lose their livelihoods. Anyone who still claims to care about this country should be alarmed. If you have found relief from hemp products or believe God doesn’t get it wrong I am asking you to call both your federal and state elected representatives. Tell them to stop trying to legislate God.
