Hermann Middle School Track and Field competes in Owensville Open

OWENSVILLE — One week removed from their season opener at Bearcat Memorial Stadium, Hermann Middle School (HMS) Bearcat and Lady Bearcat tracksters made the short trek to Owensville High School (OHS) last Monday for the Owensville Middle School (OMS) Open at OHS’ Dutchmen Field.

HMS’ Lady Bearcats placed fifth with 50 team points while their Bearcat counterparts also tied for fifth-place in the team standings with 32 points.

Kennedy Schwenk leaped her way to a pair of victories in the girls long and triple jumps with winning marks of 4.26 meters and 9.34m respectively.

Camber Rohlfing (2nd, 3.98m) and Harper Stiers (7th, 3.56m) also scored team points for Hermann in the girls long jump.

Also competing in the girls triple jump along with Schwenck for Hermann were Stiers (5th, 8.54m), Rohlfing (7th, 7.97m), Ellison Calvert (11th, 7.62m), Raelynn Kleinheider (16th, 7.14m) and Kylee Schweighauser (18th, 6.83m).

Sprinting for Hermann in the girls 100-meter dash were Stiers (4th, 14.47), Kleinheider (19th, 15.54), Schweighauser (21st, 15.57), Nora Leeper (25th, 15.95), Khloe Cuellar (33rd, 16.13), Natalie Englert (40th, 16.40), Nadia Davis (43rd, 16.79), Kylie VandeVoorde (54th, 17.16), Renee Beckmann (60th, 17.33), Kapri Bruno (65th, 17.69), Siena Palladino (75th, 19.08) and EllaGrace Carr (76th, 19.22).

Lyndsey Krueger (22nd, 34.26) and Bailey Fennessey (33rd, 35.79) also ran for the Lady Bearcats in the girls 200m dash.

Elana Towery (13th, 21.38), Fennessey (17th, 21.79) and Krueger (20th, 22.89) raced for Hermann in the girls 100m hurdles.

Picking up eight team points for the Lady Bearcats with a second-place time of 5:04.44 in the girls 4x400m relay was the team of Towery, Kleinheider, Englert and Schwenck.

Throwing for Hermann in the girls shot put were Kyah Humphrey (10th, 7.89m), Mackenzie Bader (11th, 7.76m), Leeper (13th, 7.48m), Cuellar (19th, 7.14m), VandeVoorde (33rd, 5.92m) and Bruno (34th, 5.64m).

Lane Bristow cleared 1.55m in the boys high jump to place second for Hermann while Emmerson Binkholder also cleared 2.15m in the boys pole vault to also claim second place for the Bearcats.

Teagan Rucker also tied for seventh place in the boys pole vault for Hermann clearing 1.70m.

Sprinting in the boys 100m dash for the Bearcats were Binkholder (10th, 13.41), Bentley Kolks (12th, 13.50), Mason Roche (28th, 14.38), Olson Rucker (47th, 16.15) and Will Traub (51st, 16.93).

Blake Engemann picked up Bearcat team points in the boys 400m dash with a sixth-place time of 1:07.77 while Rucker (21st, 1:17.01), Garth Gerlemann (22nd, 1:19.40), and Carter Brink (26th, 1:21.57) also took a lap around the track for Hermann.

Taking two laps around the track for Hermann in the boys 800m run were Landon Wilson (13th, 2:56.83), Olson Rucker (15th, 3:00.43), Jakob Hoener (17th, 3:01.90), Henry Lindahl (21st, 3:13.79) and Alex Beckmann (23rd, 3:22.57).

Recording a third-place time of 5:01.58 for Hermann in the boys 4x400m relay was the team of Olson Rucker, Engemann, Teagan Rucker and Roche.

Also taking third in 12:01.85 was the Bearcat 4x800m relay team of Wilson, Hoener, Lindahl and Gerlemann.

Demetrius Matech picked up five Bearcat team points with a fourth-place mark of 10.38m in the boys shot put.

Matech (8th, 21.60m), Logan Tyree (19th, 17.84m), Wilson (21st, 17.03m) and Ben Rost (29th, 13.00m) competed for the Bearcats in the boys discus.

Kolks earned two team points for Hermann with his seventh-place leap of 8.97m in the boys triple jump.

HMS Track and Field competed Monday in the St. James Invitational and will return to action tomorrow (Thursday) in the Owensville Middle School (OMS) Relays at Owensville High School’s Dutchmen Field.
