Hermann store owner shares concerns with coverage

To the Editor:

I am the principal stock holder and owner along with my sons Kirby Kotthoff and Christopher Kotthoff of Hermann Save-A-Lot (Kotthoff Foods Inc.) and I am very interested in finding out who gave Bud (sic) Collier the permission to write the story about Hermann Save-A-Lot in your paper this past week, without consulting either myself or my sons. This is very unprofessional.

It might be better to find out all the facts instead of just what people, who have nothing to do with the store, say before writing an article.

Thank you,

LaNette Kotthoff, Hermann

(Editor’s note: Christopher Kotthoff declined to comment for the story written by The Republican’s correspondent covering Hermann, Buck Collier, which was filed Monday afternoon. The Republican was unable to reach Kirby Kotthoff for comment before the newspaper’s deadline on early Tuesday evening. The story originated from a discussion initially being reported on as a follow up to a July 11 Hermann Regional Development Corporation board meeting where the store’s impending closing, sometime in August, was discussed. Details for the story were confirmed by members of the Hermann Food Pantry).
