Posting wins earlier in the week over South Callaway and Montgomery County, Todd Anderson’s Hermann Middle School (HMS) 8th grade Bearcats looked to cap the 2025 portion with a road victory last Thursday night in Pacific against the host Indians.
Racing out to a 20-8 halftime lead, Hermann outscored Pacific 20-13 in the second half of their 47-21 victory.
Will Schutt led the Bearcats with 15 points followed in double figures by Miles Eikermann with 12 points.
Nathan McDaris added all seven of his points in the second half followed closely with six points from Lane Bristow.
Emerson Binkholder scored three points while Cale Lampkin rounded out the Bearcat scoring with two points in the fourth quarter.
Falling 30-18 in seventh-grade action against Pacific, Mason Roche, and Franklin Dildine led the Bearcats with four points apiece followed closely by Caleb Overkamp and Bentley Kolks with three points each.
Jaxon Kallmeyer and Matthew Tallent both scored two points for the 7th grade Bearcats.
HMS vs. South Callaway
Hosting South Callaway’s Bulldogs at home last Tuesday night, Hermann’s 8th grade Bearcats completed the sweep with a 42-10 victory after their 7th grade counterparts posted a 31-20 win.
Eikermann led Anderson’s 8th grade Bearcats with 12 points followed closely in double figures by Schutt with 10 points.
McDaris nearly made it three Hermannites in double figures scoring all eight of his points in the second quarter.
Lane Bristow netted all five of his points in the first half while Caleb Pohlmann chipped in all four of his points in the fourth quarter.
Lampkin scored a second-quarter bucket for two points while Chris Gromer hit a third-quarter free throw for one point.
Roche led Dylan Walker’s seventh-grade Bearcats with 11 points followed closely with nine points from Kallmeyer.
Overkamp added six points to go along with two points each from Olson Rucker and Kolks.
Calen Morgan rounded out the 7th grade Bearcat scoring against South Callaway with one point on a fourth-quarter free throw.
HMS Bearcats vs. Montgomery County
Opening the week with a 50-29 victory over their Highway 19 neighbors to the north at home in Montgomery County, Hermann’s eighth-grade Bearcats were led last Monday night by Lane Bristow’s game-high 16 points while Eikermann also finished in double figures with 13 points.
Schutt and Pohlmann both added six points while Lampkin was close behind with five markers.
McDaris rounded out Hermann’s scoring against Montgomery County with four points.
In a 40-5 loss by the seventh-grade Bearcats against the visiting Wildcats, Overkamp scored all three of his points in the fourth quarter while Roche hit a third-quarter bucket for two points.
HMS’ Bearcats will open the 2026 portion of their season on Monday, Jan. 5 in a Highway 100 road showdown at New Haven.
