Last Tuesday afternoon, Hermann High School’s Bearcat Memorial Stadium played host to the Hermann Middle School (HMS) Invitational track meet and over a dozen area schools.
Both the HMS Bearcats and Lady Bearcats placed 10th in their respective team standings.
Kennedy Schwenck led HMS’ Lady Bearcats with a winning leap of 9.50 meters in the girls triple jump while teammate Harper Stiers placed third with a jump of 9.16m.
Schwenck also took third in the long jump with a leap of 4.32m while Camber Rohlfing also earned a Hermann team point with her eighth-place mark of 3.87m.
Khloe Cuellar collected two teams points for her seventh-place throw of 18.06m in the girls discus while Nora Leeper also placed 15th with a toss of 16.94m.
Mackenzie Bader (10th, 8.79m) and Kyah Humphrey (25th, 5.94m) also threw the shot put for HMS’ Lady Bearcats.
Placing ninth in a time of 4:53.74 in the girls 4x400m relay for Hermann was the team of Elana Towery, Stiers, Schwenck and Rohlfing.
Also taking ninth with a time of 2:07.41 in the girls 4x200m relay was the Lady Bearcat quartet of Kylee Schweighauser, Bailey Fennessey, Rohlfing and Towery.
Sprinting to a 12th-place time of 1:02.92 in the girls 4x100m relay was Hermann’s foursome of Lyndsey Krueger, Kapri Bruno, Leeper and Cuellar.
Rounding out the top 10 of the girls 4x800m relay for Hermann with a 10th-place time of 13:50.29 was the team of Ellison Calvert, Kylie VandeVoorde, Natalie Englert and Humphrey.
Nadia Davis also sprinted to a 26th-place time of 16.82 in the girls 100m dash.
EllaGrace Carr ran two laps around the track for Hermann during the girls 800m run in a time of 4:15.83.
Lane Bristow kept a silver medal in two for the Bearcats clearing 1.55m to place second in the boys high jump.
Bentley Kolks also earned silver for his second-place leap of 10.26m in the boys triple jump.
Demetrius Matech (10th, 9.59m) and Caleb Pohlmann (13th, 8.95m) threw the shot put for the Bearcats while Emmerson Binkholder also took third place in the boys pole vault clearing 2.45m.
Leading Bearcat relay teams was the boys 4x400m relay team of Blake Engemann, Mason Roche, Kolks and Binkholder with an eighth-place time of 4:21.73.
Sprinting to an 11th-place time of 1:02.31 in the boys 4x100m relay for the Bearcats was the foursome of Carter Brink, Logan Tyree, Teagan Rucker and Alex Beckmann.
Also taking 11th place in a time of 2:07.67 was the Bearcat 4x200m relay team of Garth Gerlemann, Will Traub, Roche and Bristow.
Rounding out Hermann’s contingency of Bearcat relay teams was the boys 4x800m relay squad of Olson Rucker, Jakob Hoener, Landon Wilson and Gerlemann with a 12th-place time of 11:49.51.
Henry Lindahl also posted a 22nd-place time of 6:41.14 in the boys 1600m run for Hermann.
HMS Track concluded their season last night (Tuesday) at New Haven.
