The Gasconade County Health Department announced Wednesday afternoon that an individual who attended the "Mid State Force Volleyball Club" tryout function Oct. 25 at the R-1 Middle School gymnasium in Hermann has tested positive for COVID-19. The health department is considering anyone who attended to be a possible close contact and is asking those individuals to self-quarantine for 14 days until Monday, Nov. 2.

In addition, they are asking attendants of this event to maintain distance and separate themselves from others, especially those with underlying medical conditions.

According to the announcement, the health department is publicly releasing this information "due to the need to inform a large number of unknown individuals," and continues to investigate the situation. Specific individuals may also be contacted directly by the health department once more information is gathered.

The health department suggests patrons monitor themselves for symptoms: fever, cough, shortness of breath, body aches, headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and loss of taste or smell.
