James Ollie Lada, 79, of Gerald, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 12, 1943, to Ollie and Cleo (Geary) Lada in St. Louis.
He was united in marriage to Marilyn Proveaux, Sept. 1, 1945, in Union.
James had served his country with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict serving two terms. He was active in the Union Moose Lodge and VFW Post of St. Clair. He enjoyed camping and the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by parents, Ollie and Cleo; and siblings, Robert Lada and Kim Needs.
He is survived by wife, Marilyn of their home; daughters, Dona Proveaux of Gerald and Shawn Proveaux and fiancé Scott Johnson of Rolla; and grandson, Tim Proveaux and fiancé Carrie Prinzi of Union.
His body was cremated and no services are scheduled. His cremains were interred at Jefferson Barracks.
