Jane Eleanor McGuire, 91, of Perry, formerly of Owensville, mother, grandmother, friend, a woman who loved well and was loved deeply, peacefully passed away Friday, Dec. 15, 2023, surrounded by her family at home.

She was born March 13, 1932, in Columbus, Ohio, to Mildred McGuire.

Following the passing of her mother, Jane was adopted as a child and raised by her grandparents, Pearl and John “Red” McGuire in Union Furnace, Ohio. Jane later built a life in Owensville, where she raised her only daughter Beth. She often spent time playing cards with her friends, baking cookies or preparing for the holidays where she enjoyed hosting and decorating.

Jane was an active member of the New Hope United Methodist Church in Owensville, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and briefly served as choir director. She was a loving woman, caring friend to many and will be remembered for her giving spirit, sense of humor and unconditional love for her family. Jane truly lived life to the fullest and loved the simple things like coconut shrimp; going to the movies; playing bingo; watching Cardinals baseball; listening to Frank Sinatra; and taking trips with her family.

She was preceded in death by mother, Mildred; grandparents, Pearl and Red: close friend, Laurine Duncan: and brothers, Jack McGuire, Paul (Helen) McGuire, and John (Katherine) McGuire.

Jane is survived by daughter, Beth Yaeger and husband Ken; granddaughters, Jessica Houseman and Kaitlyn Houseman; sister-in-law, Margaret McGuire; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 19, at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville with Reverend Mark Burkey officiating. A private entombment was in Gottenstroeter Mausoleum in the City Cemetery in Owensville.
