Janet Sue Spicer, 76, of Jefferson City, left this earth to join her family Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Capital Regional Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 28, 1946, a daughter of the late Roscoe and Lucy (Davis) Woemmel in Jefferson City.
She was united in marriage to Donald E. Spicer, Sept. 3, 1968 in Waynesville, until his passing in 2003.
Janet worked for the State of Missouri for 23 years before retiring in 2004. She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs and the Missouri Tigers. She was madly in love with Elvis Presley. She enjoyed going to the car races every Saturday. She loved volunteering at Calvary Gifts, but most of all she enjoyed time spent with her loving family.
She was preceded in death by parents, Roscoe and Lucy; husband, Donald; sister, JoAnn Marcus; brothers, Jim and John Woemmel; and special friend, Harry Bemboom.
She is survived by sons, Donnie Spicer (Carrie) and Derrick Spicer (Jodi); brother, Jerry Woemmel (Brenda); grandchildren, Brittany Spicer, Austin Spicer, Leah Mullen (Mitchell) and Dylan Spicer; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday, July 14, from 9:30–11 a.m. at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Don Frankhauser officiating.
