Jerry Ray Stephenson, 68, Owensville, passed away Friday, Nov. 6, 2020, at St. Louis.
Jerry was born March 28, 1952, to Charley and (Dorothy Mueller) Stephenson, in Union.
He was united in marriage to Mary Burt, July 18, 1970, at Union.
Jerry worked 20 years as the Director of Transportation for Gasconade County R-2 Schools. Upon retirement, he worked part-time for Owensville City Parks Department. He later worked as a truck driver for Synergistics, LLC . He was a member of the Owensville Masonic Lodge. Jerry enjoyed fixing up cars and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents, Charley and Dorothy; step-brothers, Henry Trusty and Fred “Dickey” Trusty; and sister, Bessie Davis.
He is survived by wife, Mary; son, Keith Stephenson and wife Marissa of Rolla; daughter, Rae Ann Figgemeier and husband Ken of Owensville; sister, Charlotte Lindemeyer of Villa Ridge; 13 grandchildren, Nikolas, Justis, Aaron, Miles, Addie, Dakota, Dalton, Trenton, Brianna, Ronnie, Paige, Austin and Bailey; and eight great-grandchildren, Elijiah, Sawyer, Aubree, Kenslee, Danova, Disana, Bryan and Kouver.
Funeral services will be (today) Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home Chapel in Owensville with Mike Stephens officiating. Burial will be at Countryside Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Owensville. Visitation and services are open to the public. However, due to COVID-19 virus concerns, masks are suggested but not mandatory.
