JoAnn Buhlinger, 84, Owensville, passed away Sunday, Aug. 29, 2021, at her home.

She was born on July 8, 1937, to Sylvester and Lela (Turpin) Weber, in St. Louis.

She was united in marriage to Charles Buhlinger Nov. 24, 1956, in Hernando, Miss.

JoAnn was educated through the 8th grade. She worked full-time, prior to becoming a homemaker, where she raised six children and helped raise a multitude of grandchildren in her loving home.

JoAnn lived her life serving others. She loved nothing more than being surrounded by those she held near and dear to her heart. She was the “Shepherd” of her family flock and all who loved her, viewed her as their best friend. She was a confidant to many, and supported everyone she knew with love and kindness, including strangers. JoAnn was one of the strongest souls to ever exist and earned the nickname “Superwoman” during her battle with cancer. She enjoyed cooking everyone’s favorite meals for her large family. She was a master at Candy Crush as she played each evening. Her favorite holiday was Black Friday, an annual shopping day with her girls, filled with fun and laughter for all. She had a giving and generous heart of gold and will be missed abundantly.

She was preceded in death by parents Sylvester and Lela; husband Charles, the love of her life for 63 years of marital bliss; three sisters and two brothers.

She is survived by children Debbie Buhlinger of Owensville, Tricia and husband Steve Reel, Jeffrey and wife Dana Buhlinger, all of Gerald, Kevin Buhlinger and girlfriend Linda Beauchaine, of St. Louis, Laura Livell of Rosebud, and Shelly and husband Phil Wehmeyer of Jefferson City; grandchildren Melissa and husband Jeremy Beste, Carrie and husband Adam Krupp, Jason and wife Shannon Wenkel, Kristina and husband Bill Pfister, Jessica Buhlinger, Justin and wife Amanda Buhlinger, Nick and wife Brittany Buhlinger, Anna Buhlinger, Allison and husband Jacob Shelton, AJ Livell, Sydney and Mia Wehmeyer; and great-grandchildren, Austin and wife Kelia Mayberry, Seth Mayberry and girlfriend Gracie, Olivia Beste, Khai and Kambria Krupp, Alexus Wenkel, Desi, Nic, and Datan Binkhoelter, Michael Cook, Charles and Iris Buhlinger, Mikayla and Maddy Kladky, Odin Buhlinger, and Adrianna Petford; great-great-granddaughter Brynlee Mayberry; one sister; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Family meant everything to JoAnn – her legacy will live on.

Visitation will be held at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home, Owensville, Wednesday, Sept. 1, from 2-5 p.m. with funeral services following with Pastor Shane Jarvis officiating. Private interment services will follow at Jefferson Barricks Cemetery.
