Juanita Lewretta Dorthy Schulte, 97, of Washington, formerly of Rosebud, passed away Friday, May 19, 2023, at Grandview Healthcare Center in Washington.

She was born Jan. 6, 1926, to Nathan and Lana (Kleager) Williams in Ravenden, Ark.

She was united in marriage to Edward Schulte, Jan. 1, 1966, at St. James United Church of Christ in Charlotte.

Juanita was a member of Rosebud Methodist Church and the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. She and her husband resided in Rosebud where they owned and operated Schulte’s Grocery Store from 1966–72. She also worked at Paramount Cap Factory and later retired from there. The last 16 years were spent with her beloved companion, Vincent Mueller. They enjoyed dancing, traveling and quilting together.

She was preceded in death by parents, Nathan and Lena; husband, Edward; son, Charles Sing; and nine siblings.

She is survived by children, Anita Haeffner and husband Larry of New Haven and Eddie Schulte and wife Linda of Crystal City; daughter-in-law, Jeri Sing of Arizona; grandchildren, Parker, Jenna, Annelise, Jason, Jeff, Joel and Cindy; great-grandchildren, Austin, Jackson, C.C., Ericka, Morgan, Job, Jared, Mason, Sophia, Audrey, David and John; and by her companion of 16 years, Vincent Mueller of Washington.

Visitation will be Friday, June 9, from 1–4 p.m. at Rosebud United Methodist Church.

Memorial services will follow at 4 p.m. at the church with Pastor Tom Sullenger and Larry Haeffner as the officiants. Her cremains will be interred at Rosebud Methodist Cemetery.
