Kramme’s Dutchgirls find FRC win column

Falling 46-26 last Monday night on the road at St. James, Matt Kramme’s Owensville Dutchgirl basketball team went for the first notch in the Four Rivers Conference (FRC) win column last Thursday night hosting New Haven’s Lady Shamrocks.

Overcoming a 17-10 first-quarter deficit, Owensville found the FRC win column following a 51-38 victory over the visiting Lady Shamrocks.

Cameron Ryerson showed the way for the orange and black with a double double of 17 points and 14 rebounds.

Cylee Reed also reached double digits with 13 points and two steals.

Lainey Moss nearly made it three Dutchgirls in double figures finishing with eight points, six rebounds and three assists.

Piper Koelling chipped in six points and four rebounds while Abbey Quilacio added four points, five assists and four rebounds.

Cambell Schulte capped the varsity Dutchgirl scoring with three points on a fourth-quarter 3-pointer.

Owensville also posted a 28-12 victory in a two-quarter JV game behind 13 points from Schulte and 11 points out of Shae Abernathy.

Kinley Troncin and Meredith Reed both added two points apiece for Hannah Koppelmann’s JV Dutchgirls.

Last Monday night in St. James against the Lady Tigers, Owensville could not overcome a 23-5 halftime deficit before falling 46-26 in Phelps County.

Ryerson showed the way for the orange and black with nine points while Schulte added eight points all in the second half.

Lainey Moss scored all five of her points in the third quarter while Koelling and Quilacio each chipped in two points in the second half.

Falling 26-11 in a two-quarter JV contest at St. James, Owensville’s JV Dutchgirls were led by Schulte with nine points and two markers from Abernathy.

Owensville will end the FRC portion of their season with road action tomorrow (Thursday) night at Union and next Tuesday in Sullivan.
