Ending the 2025 portion of their season with a 45-38 victory over Salem’s Lady Tigers in the consolation championship game of the Peoples Bank Holiday Classic (PBHC) at Sullivan High School, Matt Kramme’s Owensville Dutchgirls got a confidence boost that should help them going into the 2026 portion of their season.
Sitting at 2-6 entering the new year, Owensville also posted a victory over Chamois for their other notch in the win column.
Through eight games, junior Cameron Ryerson leads the Dutchgirls averaging nine points per game while Abbey Quilacio is close behind her with 7.4 points per contest.
Quilacio is also the team’s leading ball handler dishing out 1.63 assists per game for the orange and black.
As the lone returning varsity starter from last winter, junior Lainey Moss adds 4.5 points per game along with a team-leading 4.9 rebounds and 2.13 steals a game.
Dutchgirl basketball fans wanting to see action in person will have to do some traveling throughout the month of January.
Their month-long road swing starts in mid-Missouri on Monday, Jan. 5 in Wardsville against Blair Oaks’ Lady Falcons before moving even further west to the lake for a Tuesday, Jan. 6 road test at School of the Osage against the Lady Indians.
Moving closer to home, Kramme’s Dutchgirls will spend Jan. 12-17 east on Highway 50 at the Union Lady Cat Girls Basketball Tournament before venturing the opposite direction along Highway 50 in Osage County for a Wednesday, Jan. 21 road showdown against Linn’s Lady Wildcats.
Owensville will then close their month-long area road tour in northern Gasconade County at the Hermann Invitational Girls Basketball Tournament being contested from Jan. 26-31 inside both the Hermann Middle School (HMS) and Hermann High School (HHS) gyms.
