Opening their season in tournament action at Windsor (Imperial), Tess Yoggerst’s Hermann High School (HHS) Lady Bearcat volleyball team looked to play their way into the top half of the playoff bracket.
In their opening pool match against Lutheran South, they split with the Lady Lancers dropping game one 25-16 before bouncing back to take game two 25-17.
In their remaining pool matches, Hermann dropped both sets against the host Lady Owls by scores of 25-15 and 25-22 before falling to Orchard Farm 25-21 and 25-22.
Competing in the consolation side of the playoff bracket, Hermann was swept in two sets by Notre Dame (Cape Girardeau) in two sets 25-9 and 25-14 setting up a rematch with Lutheran South in the seventh-place match.
Falling 25-17 and 25-21 to the Lady Lancers, Hermann left Imperial still looking for their first win of the season.
Scheduled to face Jefferson City outdoors Monday night, hot temperatures from the heat advisory affecting nearly the entire state of Missouri moved the match indoors.
Statistics from the tournament were not available at press time.
