Lady Bearcats clip Southern Boone in 2026 opener

Ending 2025 with a pair of losses across the river in the Land of Lincoln, Ashley Aaron’s Hermann Lady Bearcats opened 2026 last Tuesday night hosting Southern Boone’s Lady Eagles.

Leading the visitors from Ashland 29-22 at halftime, Hermann outscored Southern Boone 32-20 in the second half of their 61-42 victory.

Kealie Lane called blackjack pouring in a game-high 21 points while Brynlee Ash also reached double figures with 12 points.

Andrea Van Booven just missed making it three Lady Bearcats in double figures finishing with nine points scoring seven of those in the fourth quarter.

Madyson Yates added seven points to go along with four markers each from Kimber Hale and Kalli Landolt.

Victoria Van Booven and Erika Schutt rounded out the Lady Bearcat scoring with two points apiece.

Hermann fell 38-21 in the junior-varsity girls contest.

Lady Bearcats at Borgia

Traveling east on Highway 100 into Washington last Thursday night, Hermann’s Lady Bearcats visited St. Francis Borgia High School to face the host Lady Knights.

Down 15-9 after one quarter, Hermann found themselves down double digits by a 34-18 halftime score before winding up on the wrong side of a 60-45 final.

Andrea Van Booven led the way for Hermann with a team-high 14 points followed by eight points from Lane.

Landolt scored all six of her points in the second half in addition to five markers apiece from Ash and Yates.

Victoria Van Booven rounded out the scoring at Borgia with a pair of second-quarter free throws for two points.

Hermann also fell 61-14 in the JV girls action at Borgia.
