Falling 38-26 last Monday night to St. James’ Lady Tigers who went on to win an outright Four Rivers Conference (FRC) girls basketball title, Ashley Aaron’s Hermann’s Lady Bearcats looked to end their regular season last Thursday night with a road victory along Highway 100 over New Haven’s Lady Shamrocks.

Doubling up New Haven 16-8 in the first half, Hermann outscored the Lady Shamrocks 26-8 in the second half of their 42-16 victory ending their regular season at 15-11 and in sole possession of second place in the FRC with a 6-1 mark.

Kealie Lane showed the way with a double double of 12 points, 10 rebounds and four steals for the Lady Bearcats while Brynlee Ash added eight points and two rebounds.

Kalli Landolt and Andrea VanBooven each added six points while VanBooven also grabbing seven rebounds and blocking three shots.

Madyson Yates chipped in four points followed closely with three points from Lilly Korman on a fourth-quarter 3-pointer.

Kimber Hale added two points on a second-quarter bucket while Carlie Walkenbach capped the Lady Bearcat scoring at New Haven with one point on a fourth-quarter free throw.

In spite of nine points from Grace Engemann, Hermann’s JV Lady Bearcats came out on the wrong end of a 20-14 final score during a two-quarter JV game at New Haven.

Hallie Kallmeyer added three points while Lucy Theissen chipped in two points.

Hosting St. James’ Lady Tigers last Monday night in a battle of FRC unbeatens, Aaron’s Lady Bearcats trailed 10-7 after one quarter but could not get any closer before suffering a 38-26 set back.

Andrea VanBooven flirted with a triple double finishing with 10 points, seven rebounds, five blocked shots and two steals.

Landolt and Ash each chipped in five points to go along with three points apiece from Victoria VanBooven and Walkenbach.

In Hermann’s 47-16 loss during JV action, Hailey Diebal led the blue and white with six points followed by three markers apiece out of Remi Groner and Engemann.

Brooklyn Yates and Theissen each added two points for Hermann’s JV Lady Bearcats.

Aaron’s varsity Lady Bearcats opened play in the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Class 3, District 7 Girls Basketball Tournament Monday night on their home court at Hermann High School against South Callaway’s Lady Bulldogs with a 52-29 victory.

They will now face Father Tolton’s Lady Trailblazers tonight (Wednesday) in the district semifinals looking to avenge a 48-41 loss from their second game of the regular season.

A Hermann victory would advance them to Friday’s district championship game against the winner of Centralia and Montgomery County.
