Flipping back and forth between wins and losses throughout most of 2025, Ashley Aaron’s Hermann Lady Bearcats ended 2025 with a trio of tough losses against Warrenton and at the Rumble on the River Shootout the weekend before Christmas against Liberty (Ill.) and Unity (Ill.) in Quincy, Ill., on the campus of John Wood Community College (JWCC).
Posting 2025 victories over Washington, Montgomery County, Mexico and South Callaway, Aaron is hopeful that Hermann’s strength of schedule will prove beneficial when Four Rivers Conference (FRC) girls basketball action rolls around in February.
Senior Kealie Lane has led the Lady Bearcats averaging 15.9 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 3.1 steals per game.
Brynlee Ash has also chipped in 8.1 points per game followed closely by Madyson Yates at 7.5 points per game and Andrea Van Booven at 7.1 markers per contest
Grabbing 8.5 rebounds per game, Van Booven also leads the Lady Bearcats with 33 blocked shots good for 3.30 blocks per game.
This places her third in the St. Louis metropolitan area in blocks per game and her 33 blocks tie her for fourth place overall with Gibault’s Maggie Altes.
Hermann will open the 2026 portion of their season at home on Tuesday, Jan. 6 hosting Southern Boone’s Lady Eagles before venturing east on Highway 100 into Washington on Thursday, Jan. 8 to face St. Francis Borgia’s Lady Knights.
JV action against Southern Boone will tip at 6 p.m., while hoops action at Borgia will start at approximately 5:45 p.m.
After competing in the South Callaway Girls Basketball Tournament from Jan. 12-17, Aaron’s Lady Bearcats will take to the road for a pair of Interstate 44 showdowns at St. Clair on Monday, Jan. 19 and at Cuba on Thursday, Jan. 22.
Tip times for JV action both of those nights will be at 5:30 p.m.
Jess Robb’s Hermann JV Lady Bearcats will also face Liberty (Wentzville) on Wednesday, Jan. 14 in a JV-only home game at 5 p.m.
Along with their Bearcat counterparts, Aaron’s Lady Bearcats will also compete in the Hermann Invitational Girls Basketball Tournament inside both the Hermann Middle School (HMS) and Hermann High School (HHS) gyms.
