Mary Jett 1939-2026

Mary Jane Jett, 87, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026.

She was born on June 6, 1939, to the late Richard Victor and Eunice (nee Newbound) Smith.

She served for many years as a dedicated volunteer at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, a Boy Scout leader, a volunteer for the Manchester Parks Department and many other organizations.

Mary’s artistic talent was matched only by her generosity, whether she was painting, sewing, crafting or baking one of her signature desserts.

She was preceded in death by husband of 57 years, Jack; parents, Richard and Eunice; daughter, Inez Pace; sisters, Bess Ann Treece, Nancy Nowack and Glenda Buhr; and brothers, Paul Douglas Smith  and Richard Eugene Smith.

Mary is survived by children, Brian Jett and wife Dina, Valerie Howard and husband Paul, Allen Jett, Paul Jett and wife Joan and Melissa Jett; son-in-law, Brad Pace; grandchildren, David, Daniel, Joshua, Ethan, Arabella, Brennan, Dorian, Carson, Addison and Nathan; six great-grandchildren; brother, Roger Smith; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The memorial visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m., on Friday, Sept. 4 at Kutis Funeral Home in the Affton Chapel. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 5, at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church.

A Private interment will be held at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Owensville.
