Mary Margaret Laux, 72, Gerald, passed away Friday, July 19, 2019, at her residence.
She was born May 8, 1947, to Russell Edwin and Margaret Kathryn (Freeman) Lorton, at Huntsville.
She was first united in marriage to Larry Farrell. He preceded her in death Feb. 23, 1969. She then married John Laux, July 15, 1988, at Gerald.
Mary was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church. She worked over 20 years at Rosebud General Store. She enjoyed watching grandchildren’s sporting events and St. Louis Cardinals baseball games.
She was also preceded in death by daughter, Tosha Withers; brothers, Russell and Gerald Lorton; and sister, Kathy Lorton Hawkins.
She is survived by husband, John Laux, of the home; children, Russell Farrell and wife Sherry of Owensville and Rich Withers and wife Becky of Washington; sister-in-law, Priscilla Beck Lorton of Owensville; grandchildren, Tony Snodgrass and wife Bridget, Landon Farrell, Macy Farrell and Lily-Kate Farrell, all of Owensville, and Christian Withers of Washington; and great-grandchildren, Oliver and Easton Snodgrass.
Her body was cremated and her ashes will be interred at New Friendship Baptist Cemetery near Gerald. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Gerald.
