Michael “Hopper” George Fuchs, 70, of Owensville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024, at Capital Region Hospital in Jefferson City.
He was born Nov. 21, 1953, to George and Della (Nelson) Fuchs in Owensville.
He was united in marriage to Sue Schneider, Nov. 21, 2021, in Bland.
Michael was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Owensville and the Owensville Moose Lodge. He enjoyed spending time on the river, riding his four wheeler on the farm, working on race cars with Doug and spending time at Bogey’s with his friends. He cared deeply about his pets, Lizzie and Kitty who he often referred to as his kids.
He was preceded in death by parents George and Della; wife, Sue; children, Tena and Rena Fuchs; sister, Mary Maciejewski; and niece, Tina Bryant.
He is survived by daughters, Michele Valley and husband Kelly and Jessica Charboneau and husband Shawn all of Owensville; grandchildren, Kayla and Tucker Huebner of Ashland, Hannah Charboneau and fiancé Aaron Budnik of Owensville, Landon Valley and Logan Valley both of Owensville; great-granddaughter, Stella Huebner; brother-in-law, Allen Maciejewski and wife Tina of Owensville; and niece, Trisha Maciejewski of Silex.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 29, at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville with Rev. Kevin Sullivan officiating. Burial was in Old Bohemian Catholic Cemetery.
