Morris W. Brown, 71, of Bland, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023, at Gasconade Manor in Owensville.
He was born Oct. 18, 1952, a son to the late Howard Brown and Nadine (Branson) Brown who survives of Bem.
Morris was a 1971 graduate of Bland High School and attended Linn Technical College in Linn.
He was united in marriage to Karen Mitchell, Dec. 22, 1973. She survives of the home.
He was employed at Lakeside Book Company in Owensville for over 20 years.
Morris and Karen were members of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by father, Howard; and sisters, Maxine Brown and Patricia Scego.
Morris is survived by spouse, Karen of 50 years; mother, Nadine; son, Keith Brown and wife Karla of Bland; daughter, Kristy Scheel of Blue Springs; sisters, Marlene (Gene) Curry of Belle, Pamela (Bob) Keeney of Owensville and Michelle Butler of Belle; grandchildren, Zack (Lexi) Treece, Tyler, Brandon (Macy), and Kolten Brown and Kaden and Kale Scheel; great-grandson, Cameron Brown; brother-in-law, Denny Scego of Owensville; and father-in-law Olin Mitchell; of Bland along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 21, at Mt Zion Baptist Church with Doug Lane officiating. Interment was in the Mt Zion Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sassmann’s Chapel, Belle.
