Two Bonner Springs, Kan., motorcyclists traveling east into Rosebud on U.S. 50 on Friday afternoon were injured when a motorists turning left onto Highway 28 traveled into their path.
The female motorcycle passenger, a 65-year-old woman, was seriously injured and was flown from the helipad at Gerald Legion Park for treatment at Mercy St. Louis. The male driver, 65, had minor injuries and was transported by Gerald Area Ambulance District personnel for treatment at Mercy Washington.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s report by Cpl. Brian Lange, the couple was approaching the Highway 28 and U.S. 50 junction west of Rosebud on a 2016 Harley Davidson Ultra at 4 p.m. Oct. 10. A 2021 Ford Ranger operated by a 63-year-old St. Robert man was entering the left turn lane for Highway 28 traveling west on U.S. 50 and drove into the path of the eastbound motorcycle. Both the motorcycle driver and his passenger were ejected. Both were wearing their helmets, according to the MSHP report.
Triple L Towing removed the motorcycle from the scene and the Ranger was driven from the scene.
