Playing four games in four days last week, Chris Leibach’s Hermann Lady Bearcat softball team looked for some more notches in the win column.

In non-conference action, Hermann traveled to Wellsville last Wednesday to take on the Wellsville-Middletown Lady Tigers.

Trailing 6-1 after two innings, Hermann scored 29 runs over the next two innings to post a 30-7 victory on the road in the third game of their stretch of four games in four days.

Delilah Nobel singled and scored Hermann’s first run in the top of the first inning before she doubled and scored one of Hermann’s 15 third-inning runs.

Halfway to the cycle, Nobel needed a triple and a home run the rest of the way.

Hitting a two-run home run early in the top of the fourth inning, the lineup turned back over to Nobel where she tripled and scored completing her quest for the cycle.

For the game, Nobel had five hits, five runs scored and seven runs batted in (RBI) to lead the Lady Bearcat offense in Wellsville.

Alivia Witthaus also homered for her lone hit of the game in the top of the third inning driving in two runs.

Allison Brown and Dakota Greunke each also had two hits for the Lady Bearcats.

Izzy Brown, Penny Cramer and Lillie Barker rounded out Hermann’s hit parade at Wellsville.

Harper Priess, Taylor Grotewiel and Witthaus each scored four runs while Allison Brown, Greunke and Cramer all scored three runs.

Kapri Bruno and Barker both also scored two runs for Hermann against Wellsville-Middletown.

Prior to their 30-7 victory, Hermann dropped a 16-0 decision at home against Owensville last Tuesday in addition to suffering a 21-9 loss at Mark Twain last Monday.

Witthaus and Barker had the lone hits against Owensville.

At Mark Twain, Cramer, Greunke and Allison Brown each had two hits while Witthaus had a team-high three RBIs.

Hermann also dropped a 12-0 Four Rivers Conference (FRC) contest last Thursday on the road at Sullivan in which Witthaus had the lone hit for the Lady Bearcats.

Barker and Greunke also drew walks against the Lady Eagles.

Hosting Union’s Lady Wildcats last night (Tuesday) at Dick Ochsner Ball Park, Hermann will also hit the road in FRC play tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon against St. James at 4:30 p.m.
