Norma June Steen, 95, of Washington, formerly of Owensville, passed away Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, at Manor Grove Nursing Home in Kirkwood.

She was born June 1, 1928, to Walter Frank and Ruby Louise (Mason) Buchholz in Owensville.

She was united in marriage to Herbert S. Steen, Dec. 22, 1956, in St. Louis.

Norma was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Owensville. She had lived in Owensville from her birth until 1976 and then in Washington from 1976–2015. She graduated from Owensville High School and then attended Cosmetology School. She loved and devoted herself to her family. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, listening to music and working in her yard. She loved animals and watching birds. The many dogs that she had had in her lifetime brought her much joy.

She was preceded in death by parents, Walter and Ruby; husband, Herbert; and sister in infancy, Marjorie Buchholz.

She is survived by daughter, Stacy L. Heimbaugh and husband Gary of Ballwin; grandchildren, Heather Paule and husband Zach and Lauren McBride and husband Kyle; and great-grandsons, Benjamin and Noah.

A private graveside service was held at Owensville City Cemetery with Rev. Stephanie DeLong officiating.
