OHS Golf ends season in FRC, district tournaments

FARMINGTON — After competing in the Four Rivers Conference (FRC) Boys Golf Tournament last Monday at Sullivan Municipal Golf Course, Cullen VanLeer’s Owensville Dutchmen golfers hit the road to Farmington and the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Class 3, District 1 Tournament at Bogey Creek Golf Course.

Firing a team score of 408 to place 13th as a team, Owensville was led individually by freshman Jack Tesson who fired an 18-hole round of 97 to tie for 49th place along with Ste. Genevieve’s Mason Trollinger and Doniphan’s Domonick Roark.

Junior Keigan Glaser followed Tesson for the orange and black with a round of 98 good for 52nd place.

Playing his final round of golf for OHS, senior Zach Barch carded an 18-hole round of 106 to tie him for 64th place individually with Herculaneum’s Sage Asinger.

Koen Brooks was close behind shooting a round of 107 tying him for 66th place with Doniphan’s Miken Pigg.

St. Francis Borgia topped the team standings with a score of 311 followed by Dexter with a 323 to book passage to state as a team.

Golfers that will represent the FRC during next week’s MSHSAA Class 3 State Golf Championships at Sedalia Country Club include Sullivan’s Carsen Dudley (77), St. James’ Eli Davis (79) and St. Clair’s Liam Leroney (86).

During the FRC Tournament in Sullivan, Glaser led the orange and black with a round of 92 followed by rounds of 97 from Tesson and Brooks.

Barch checked in with an 18-hole round of 108 while Brenner Thompson shot a round of 112.

Andrew Budnik led Owensville’s JV Dutchmen during the FRC Golf Tournament with a round of 91 followed by a 97 from Brock Heidbrink.

Grant Huebler also carded a 107 to go along with a 110 from Colton Echols.
