Coming off a pair of team titles at New Haven over the Labor Day holiday weekend, Matt Candrl’s Owensville Middle School (OMS) cross country runners looked to duplicate the feat over the weekend during the Linn Cross Country Invitational held Saturday at the Osage County Fairgrounds.
OMS’ Dutchmen placed third as a team with 101 points finishing behind New Bloomfield (52) and Lewis and Clark (99).
Trevin Nolting (8th, 12:20.71) and Trace Ridder (19th, 13:14.95) showed the way for Owensville leaving Linn with medals.
Also helping OMS’ Dutchmen place third in Linn were Bentley Crews (25th, 13:42.22), Garrett Ringeisen (30th, 13:59.77), Ayden Gutermuth (32nd, 14:03.12), Anthony Grube (34th, 14:05.05), Liam Kramme (40th, 14:21.97), Clayton Hays (44th, 14:26.94), Brady Rutledge (52nd, 14:46.36), Chandler Howard (62nd, 15:25.38), Ryker Leach (66th, 15:35.63), Carter Price (73rd, 15:35.73), Brayden Kemp (74th, 16:06.39), Andrew Allen (77th, 16:16.19), Daven Dietrich (80th, 16:23.83), Bowen Palmer (84th, 16:35.78), Leland Tirre (117th, 20:05.61), Ansel Winter (120th, 21:22.12) and Hollis Winter (128th, 25:47.85).
Placing fourth as a team were OMS’ Dutchgirls at Linn with a score of 127 points.
Owensville finished behind New Bloomfield (75), Thomas Jefferson (80) and Lewis and Clark (104).
Adreahna Leach (10th, 14:28.17) and Bella Daniels (12th, 14:38.20) led OMS’ Dutchgirls at Linn and earned medals in the process.
Fellow OMS Dutchgirl harriers helping the orange and black place fourth as a team included Paisley Hempelmann (24th, 15:35.36), Alexandra Leach (45th, 16:47.07), Hannah McQueen (56th, 17:14.01), Avalon Breese (82nd, 18:56.31), Aisha Santos (100th, 21:29.22), Allyson Smith (103rd, 22:05.63) and Shaylia Ringeisen (109th, 24:53.24).
Topping five other teams with 50 points, OMS’ Dutchmen were led at New Haven by the duo of Nolting (5th, 13:41.5) and Garrett Ringeisen (10th, 14:27.8) who both earned medals for their top-10 finishes in Shamrock land.
Also helping OMS’ Dutchmen to a team title over Labor Day weekend were Kramme (12th, 14:36.1), Crews (14th, 14:58.5), Gutermuth (16th, 15:14.2), Grube (23rd, 15:42.6), Hays (24th, 15:44.1), Zeke Johnson (25th, 15:56.5), Rutledge (28th, 16:13.6), Price (30th, 16:42.4), Howard (34th, 17:13.6), Dietrich (35th, 17:17.6), Kemp (37th, 17:33.7), Allen (40th, 18:00.3), Palmer (42nd, 18:06.2), Leach (49th, 19:37.0), Ansel Winter (60th, 23:59.3), Tirre (61st, 24:20.2) and Hollis Winter (66th, 27:45.4).
Finishing ahead of three other teams, OMS’ Dutchgirls won a team title at New Haven with 36 points led by the trio of Alexis Christensen (5th, 16:11.6), Adreahna Leach (6th, 16:18.4) and Daniels (8th, 16:19.8) who each earned medals by virtue of their top-10 finish.
Fellow Dutchgirls behind the top three included Alexandra Leach (23rd, 18:53.8), McQueen (26th, 19:41.1), Breese (30th, 20:14.9), Santos (39th, 22:00.8), Smith (43rd, 24:02.5) and Shaylia Ringeisen (48th, 27:03.9).
