OMS Track wins three events during home meet

Opening the home portion of their schedule last Monday night, Owensville Middle School (OMS) track and field athletes hosted the annual OMS Open track meet at Owensville High School’s (OHS) Dutchmen Field.

OMS’ Dutchgirls placed second with 80 team points behind Union (194) while their Dutchmen counterparts were third as a team with 95 points behind Salem (167) and Union (134.5).

Ambrosiah Salamone showed the way for OMS’ Dutchgirls winning the girls pole vault with a clearing height of 2.15 meters while Kiera Hamm also placed fourth clearing 1.85m for the orange and black.

Sprinting down the track for the Dutchgirls in the girls 100m dash were Ella Niederer (23rd, 15.72), Ollie Ray (26th, 15.98), Lexi Ragain (34th, 16.21), Kambria Krupp (42nd, 16.74), Leah Roberson (51st, 17.05), Lilyana Rossi (69th, 18.04) and Avalon Breese (74th, 18.83).

Gracie Rosselli led the contingency of OMS Dutchgirls in the girls 200m dash with a third-place time of 30.90.

She was followed in orange and black by Kadie Williams (14th, 33.27), Aubrey Mogenson (15th, 33.33), Allyson Smith (29th, 35.65) and Roberson (37th, 36.73).

Kennedy Reams (4th, 3:00.27) and Alexis Christensen (5th, 3:00.61) picked up Dutchgirl team points in the girls 800m run.

Leaping in the girls 100m hurdles for OMS were Rosselli (5th, 20.31), Addi Meyer (8th, 20.77), Reams (11th, 21.07), Williams (12th, 21.14), Liliana Colula (15th, 21.57), Elle Albright (16th, 21.77), Jolie Vandegriffe (19th, 22.79), Smith (21st, 22.91) and Ray (23rd, 23.02).

Placing fourth in the girls 4x100m relay for the Dutchgirls was the team of Smith, Hamm, Mogenson and Salamone in 1:00.28.

Also taking seventh in the event with a time of 1:02.37 was the OMS girls team of Meyer, Ray, Ragain and Christensen.

Taking third place in the girls 4x200m relay for the OMS Dutchgirls with a time of 2:08.25 was the quartet of Allison Evans, Hamm, Salamone and Albright.

Throwing for the Dutchgirls in the girls shot put were Evans (2nd, 9.99m), Adelyn McDonald (3rd, 9.75m), Ellie Bay (12th, 7.63m), Lydia Barnwell (16th, 7.26m), Rossi (20th, 7.13m), Kat Buhr (21st, 7.06m) and Kami Ridenhour (25th, 6.65m).

Bay also took second for OMS in the girls discus with a throw of 17.65m while Arie Isom (15th, 12.71m) and Addison Ryerson (36th, 6.98m) also threw for the Dutchgirls in the discus that did not compete in the shot put.

Reams (2nd, 1.25m) and Vandegriffe (5th, 1.20m) scored Dutchgirl team points in the girls high jump.

Jace Duerr scored the lone individual event win for OMS’ Dutchmen with a first-place time of 15.92 in the boys 100m hurdles.

Tate Dixon (8th, 22.38) and Ayden Gutermuth (10th, 22.79) also posted top-10 times for the orange and black in the event.

Winning the boys 4x800m relay for the Dutchmen in 10:24.08 was the orange and black foursome of Robbie Rodriguez, Roman Crowe, Liam Kramme and Davey Nichols.

Sprinting down the track for OMS’ Dutchmen in the boys 100m dash were Seth Mitcham (2nd, 12.37), Duerr (14th, 13.59), Nathan Dobbs (16th, 13.77), Grayson Kelley (23rd, 14.31), Alexander Pratt (24th, 14.32), Cooper Southerland (26th, 14.34), Brayden Kemp (27th, 14.35), Logan Hackstedt (28th, 14.38), Bo Nowack-Schlottog (32nd, 14.92), Garrett Ringeisen (38th, 15.11) and Dixon (41st, 15.44).

Ricky Ringeisen placed fourth in the boys 200m dash with a time of 27.25 while Atticus Budnik also placed 36th in 33.51 for Owensville.

Trace Lange (2nd, 1:01.56) and Pratt (19th, 1:15.31) each ran a lap for the Dutchmen in the boys 400m dash.

Crowe (5th, 2:40.58) and Max Altemeyer (7th, 2:48.27) both earned team points for OMS’ Dutchmen in the boys 800m run.

Running the boys 1600m run for Owensville included Rodriguez (2nd, 5:34.50), Altemeyer (4th, 5:38.18), Brock Rutledge (10th, 6:07.14), Anthony Grube (14th, 6:13.94) and Kramme (18th, 6:50.45).

Sprinting to a fourth-place time of 54.77 in the boys 4x100m relay for Owensville was the team of Kison Curtman, Nowack-Schlottog, Mitcham and Pratt.

Also taking sixth in the event for OMS was the team of Cody Richardson, Kelley, Budnik and Dobbs in a time of 58.69.

Taking third in the boys 4x200m relay for OMS’ Dutchmen in a time of 2:00.47 was the team of Mason Steinbeck, Curtman, Hackstedt and Southerland.

Ending the meet on the track with a second-place time of 4:25.87 was the Dutchmen 4x400m relay team of Rodriguez, Mitcham, Crowe and Lange.

Throwing the shot put for OMS’ Dutchmen included Hackstedt (10th, 9.14m), Isaac Dablemont (13th, 8.98m), and Pratt (21st, 8.31m).

Lange (2nd, 1.55m) and Crowe (4th, 1.50m) scored Dutchmen team points in the boys high jump while Garrett Ringeisen cleared 1.70m in the boys pole vault to tie for seventh place.

Nichols (2nd, 4.86m), Dobbs (6th, 4.51m) and Southerland (7th, 4.44m) claimed team points with top-eight marks in the boys long jump for Owensville.

Kemp (5th, 9.09m), Nichols (8th, 8.49m) and Steinbeck (9th, 8.03m) finished within the top 10 of the boys triple jump for the orange and black.

Competing Monday night in the St. James Invitational, OMS’ track squads will return home to the friendly confines of Dutchmen Field tomorrow (Thursday) night to host the OMS Relays with events beginning at 3:30 p.m.
