NEW HAVEN — Closing the April portion of their season at the New Haven Middle School open on New Haven High School’s track, Owensville Middle School (OMS) track and field athletes survived not only the meet but also the elements as it rained throughout the majority of the meet.
OMS’ Dutchmen topped the team standings with 104 points while their Dutchgirl counterparts racked up 98 team points.
Winning six events on the boys side, Owensville had seven sprinters in the top 10 of the boys 200-meter dash led by Seth Mitcham’s winning time of 26.91.
Following Mitcham in orange and black were Ricky Ringeisen (2nd, 27.23), Bo Nowack-Schlottog (6th, 31.01), Braydison Valley (7th, 31.04), Alexander Pratt (31.46), Brayden Kemp (9th, 31.68) and Logan Hackstedt (10th, 33.32).
Sprinting in the rain during the 100m dash for OMS’ Dutchmen were Mitcham (2nd, 13.07), Kison Curtman (3rd, 14.07), Nathan Dobbs (4th, 14.11), Tate Dixon (5th, 14.59), Pratt (6th, 14.71), Nowack-Schlottog (8th, 15.05), Hackstedt (10th, 15.22), Garrett Ringeisen (12th, 15.85), Liam Kramme (14th, 15.92) and Cody Richardson (16th, 16.60).
Max Altemeyer (1st, 5:48.07), Brock Rutledge (2nd, 6:05.97) and Anthony Grube (3rd, 6:23.77) claimed the top three spots for Owensville in the boys 1600m run.
Claiming the top eight spots in the boys 100m hurdles for the orange and black were Jace Duerr (1st, 16.09), Altemeyer (2nd, 20.88), Ayden Gutermuth (3rd, 21.11), Bentley Williams (4th, 22.06), Dixon (5th, 22.44), Atticus Budnik (6th, 22.78), Garrett Ringeisen (7th, 23.08) and Grayson Kelley (8th, 23.79).
Wining the boys 4x100m relay for Owensville in 54.56 was the quartet of Mitcham, Dobbs, Nowack-Schlottog and Curtman.
Taking second for Owensville in the boys 4x200m relay with a time of 1:57.13 was the team of Mason Steinbeck, Ricky Ringeisen, Duerr and Kemp.
Winning the boys 4x800m relay for Owenvsille in a new school record time of 9:41.37 was the team of Trace Lange, Robbie Rodriguez, Roman Crowe and Davey Nichols.
Carter Price (2nd, 23.94m), Pratt (4th, 20.12m) and Brahm Winter (8th, 18.60m) placed in the top eight of the boys discus.
Ricky Ringeisen (2nd, 1.40m) and Dobbs (3rd, 1.35m) placed in the top three of the boys high jump.
Garrett Ringeisen (2nd, 2.00m), Kramme (3rd, 1.85m) and Richardson (5th, 1.55m) placed in the top five of the boys pole vault for Owensville.
Nichols (1st, 4.93m) and Dobbs (4th, 3.97m) made up half of the top four in the boys long jump.
Sprinting down the track for OMS Dutchgirls in the girls 100m dash were Ambrosiah Salamone (1st, 14.76), Allison Evans (2nd, 15.44), Aubrey Mogenson (4th, 15.52), Lexi Ragain (7th, 16.31), Ella Niederer (9th, 16.47), Ollie Ray (10th, 16.50), Kambria Krupp (11th, 16.85), Allyson Smith (12th, 17.46) and Avalon Breese (17th, 19.22).
Jolie Vandegriffe (4th, 33.82) led five Dutchgirls in the top 10 of the girls 200m dash at New Haven.
Gracie Rosselli posted a fourth-place time of 1:19.42 leading Owensville in the girls 400m dash while Alexis Christensen (1st, 2:46.20) and Kennedy Reams (2nd, 2:51.38) claimed the top two spots for OMS’ Dutchgirls in the girls 800m run.
Making up the majority of the top 10 in the girls 100m hurdles for Owensville were Kiera Hamm (2nd, 19.92), Mogenson (3rd, 20.47), Rosselli (5th, 20.93), Elle Albright (6th, 21.14), Liliana Colula (7th, 21.15), Leah Roberson (9th, 22.52) and Sophia Beard (10th, 23.28).
Sprinting to a second-place time of 1:12.04 in the girls 4x100m relay was the OMS Dutchgirl foursome of Addison Ryerson, Breese, Roberson and Colula.
Winning the girls 4x400m relay for Owensville in a time of 5:02.82 was the quartet of Hamm, Reams, Christensen and Salamone.
Throwing the shot put for the Dutchgirls at New Haven were Evans (2nd, 8.44m), Adelyn McDonald (3rd, 8.24m), Kat Buhr (4th, 7.67m), Reagan Brehe (6th, 6.79m), Ellie Bay (8th, 6.70m), Lydia Barnwell (9th, 6.48m), Lilyana Rossi (11th, 6.36m), Kami Ridenhour (12th, 5.84m) and Smith (21st, 4.16m).
Reams (2nd, 1.30m), Vandegriffe (3rd, 1.25m) and Isom (4th, 1.15m) took three of the top four spots in the girls high jump for Owensville.
Salamone (1st, 2.60m) and Hamm (2nd, 2.00m) claimed the top two spots for OMS’ Dutchgirls in the girls pole vault.
OMS Track and Field ended their season last Thursday in the Union Middle School Invitational and that meet will be recapped in next week’s Republican.
