JEFFERSON CITY — Conquer the capital.

That was the goal Saturday for Casey Fisher’s Owensville Middle School wrestling Dutchmen and Dutchgirls during the Capital City Middle School Wrestling Tournament held at Capital City High School in Jefferson City.

Out of 29 OMS Dutchmen and Dutchgirl wrestlers competing in Jefferson City Saturday, 22 of them placed third or higher in their respective weight classes earning themselves medals.

Eight Dutchmen and Dutchgirls won their respective weight classes allowing them to leave Jefferson City with gold medals around their necks.

Bo Buddemeyer pinned all three of his opponents in a little over five minutes of wrestling.

Cohen Dare won two of his matches by fall with the other being a 12-7 decision over Warsaw’s Isaac Daughenbaugh.

Gauge Workman only needed just over two minutes of mat time to pin all three of his opponents to win his weight class.

Micah Duncan pinned two of his opponents before winning his third and final match by forfeit securing his gold medal.

Cooper Cardoza pinned his first two opponents before holding on to win a 6-5 decision over Cherokee Wrestling’s Dawson Blaine.

Cael Walker claimed his gold medal winning all three matches by fall in a combined time of just under five minutes.

David Levin needed just under seven minutes of mat time to pin his way to gold.

Cohen wasn’t the only Dare to leave Jefferson City with gold.

His older sister Rylee Dare also pinned her way to first place winning all three of her matches by fall.

Three OMS wrestlers also claimed silver medals from CCMS with second-place finishes in their respective weight classes.

Zach Holtmeyer won his first match by forfeit before coming up on the wrong end of a 6-4 decision against Fulton’s Jacob Landeros making him settle for second place.

Kurt Brenner pinned North Callaway’s Hayden Fansler (:33) and Camdenton’s Brock Conaway (1:47) setting up a championship bout against Fulton’s Wyatt Feltner.

Losing an 8-6 decision to the Hornet grappler, Brenner settled for second place in his weight class.

Rounding out the list of OMS silver medalists was Adriane Gregory.

Pinned by Waynesville’s Kellie Jones in round one, Gregory came back to earn wins by forfeit over Sophie Moss (Lewis and Clark) and Laryssa Stafford (Mexico) to secure second place.

Bronze medals for third-place finishes went to 11 OMS wrestlers.

Logan Quick secured his third-place medal winning a 7-0 decision over Waynesville’s Prince Cruz.

Jaxon Lowe earned his third-place medal with a win by fall in his second-round match over Eldon’s Daelyn Dorman in 1:12.

Peyton Pohlmann claimed his third-place medal winning a 9-5 decision in his third-round match over North Callaway’s Urick Lobb.

William Coppedge pinned School of the Osage’s Ace Killian in 2:05 during his second-round match to earn his third-place medal.

Payton Pendleton pinned Mexico’s Levi Iman in :56 during round-one action to secure third place.

Wyatt Shaw claimed his third-place medal with a win by fall over Osage’s Ayden Walbring in 2:33.

Kennedi Roach won her second-round match by fall in 2:56 over Waynesville’s Aubrey King to claim third place.

Anieya Bergesch also pinned Waynesville’s Anna Kempen in 2:50 allowing her to place third.

Kelby Herbel secured her third-place medal with a win by forfeit over Camdenton’s Adarra Virah-Yockisch.

Cullen Green and Brianna Bodine both earned third-place medals in their respective weight classes in spite of not winning a match.

OMS wrestlers placing fourth and helping the orange and black to a team title were Hunter Anderson, Mason Turner, Dillon Dietrich, Connor Henderson, Payton Busenhart and Kaylie Hinson.
