With graduation ceremonies throughout the Warden Publishing Company (WPC) already taking place, numerous senior student-athletes throughout Crawford, Gasconade, Maries, Osage and Phelps counties are still representing their schools even with diplomas in hand as spring sports are drawing to a close.
Area baseball teams still alive as of press time include Owensville, Belle, Fatima, Linn, Cuba and Vienna.
All three schools that have girls soccer are also still playing as of press time.
They include the Owensville Dutchgirls, Fatima Lady Comets and St. James Lady Tigers.
Fatima had their district opener Monday night against Canton’s Lady Tigers at Blair Oaks while Owensville and St. James saw their respective first-round district showdowns on the pitch postponed to last night (Tuesday) from Monday due to heavy rain and thunderstorms in the area.
Several senior track and field athletes will also represent their respective schools during the upcoming 2026 Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) State Track and Field Championships scheduled for this Friday and Saturday at the Dennis and Roberta Licklider Track Complex inside Jefferson City High School’s Atkins Stadium.
Hermann High School (HHS) seniors Nolan Kopp and Faith Gabathuler will still represent the blue and white this weekend after receiving their diplomas during graduation exercises held last Thursday evening at Bearcat Memorial Stadium.
Graduating Friday night, Owensville High School will also have plenty of orange and black still on the track even after receiving their diplomas.
They include Ariana Katsov, Hannah Gehlert, Emma-Lee Wehmeyer, Connor Wellman and Logan Valley.
Holding their graduation Sunday, Belle High School (BHS) senior Aubrey Rehmert will go for her second consecutive state title in the Class 2 Girls Javelin.
Staying in Maries County, several Vienna High School (VHS) graduates will have one more week as an Eagle on the track.
They will include Troy Wulff, Eli Crum and Aubrey Schwartze.
Between Chamois and Fatima, Osage County will have a trio graduating seniors at state track this weekend in Jefferson City.
Senior Savannah Sieg will compete in the Class 1 Girls Discus along with the Fatima duo of Alex Berhorst and Drew Riegel.
Steelville High School (SHS) seniors Hunter Starbeck, Landon Rutledge and Alexander Martin will get to represent the Cardinals and Crawford County this weekend in Jefferson City.
St. James High School will have three graduating seniors competing this weekend during the Class 3 MSHSAA Track and Field Championships in Avery Campbell, Alex Hughes and Aiden Boone.
