Owensville Fire Department volunteer Brett Palmer joined the local agency a few years ago with absolutely no fire experience and has added swift water rescue technician, along with firefighter 1 and II training certification, to his achievements. On Saturday he was named as the OFD’s Firefighter of the Year. Palmer receives congratulations from Matt Eiler after receiving his commemorative helmet award.
